The Columbus Police Department offers a progressive Police Cadet program designed to prepare young professionals for a rewarding career in law enforcement. From checking on citizens and businesses in Uptown Columbus near the scenic Riverwalk, to patrolling city parks on ATV's, this highly interactive program is crafted for civic-minded individuals eager to make a difference in their community, all while learning valuable skills from seasoned law enforcement professionals.   • Cadet I (G-10):$30,152.50
  • Cadet I (G-11):$31,678.97
  • Cadet II (G-12):$33,282.71


  • Full time position.
  • Converts to a police officer position at age 20.
  • Direct Deposit.
  • All equipment and uniforms provided.

Minimum Requirements.

  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Be between 18 to 19 years old.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have valid Driver's License.
